Bengaluru-based EV charging tech provider Kazam has entered into a strategic partnership with Malaysia’s QuickCharge to enhance the country’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The collaboration marks Kazam’s expanding presence in Southeast Asia, following successful deployments in Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Mauritius.

The CMS provides advanced features such as analytics, remote management, and revenue optimisation tools, allowing Charge Point Operators to streamline their operations. Between July and December 2024, QuickCharge reported a doubling of energy demand routed for EV charging, driven by a surge in app users surpassing 50,000. The scalable and user-friendly nature of Kazam’s solutions has been credited with enabling QuickCharge to deliver a seamless experience to its customers.

In addition to Kazam’s standard features, QuickCharge is piloting the company’s Dynamic Tariff feature, which allows flexible pricing based on parameters such as the time of day, state of charge (SOC), and other conditions. This innovation helps manage peak demand, optimises resource utilisation, and provides transparent pricing options for users. Akshay Shekhar, CEO and Co-Founder of Kazam, described the Dynamic Tariff as a transformative feature for the EV charging ecosystem, maximising revenue potential while ensuring convenience for EV owners.

Malaysia has set ambitious targets for EV adoption creating an urgent need for a robust charging network. In response, QuickCharge, in partnership with Kazam, plans to launch 2,000 new charging points across Malaysia.
