JSW MG Motor India Unveils EV Ecosystem Initiatives mobility outlook

JSW MG Motor India has launched a series of electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem initiatives at the DriEV.Bharat. These industry-first initiatives underscore the company's commitment to advancing EV technology and fostering a comprehensive, user-friendly EV infrastructure across the country.

Among the key announcements was the introduction of eHUB by MG, the industry's first and largest EV charging platform by an original equipment manufacturer (OEM). This innovative platform simplifies the EV charging process, allowing users to locate, reserve, and pay for charging stations through a single interface. With partnerships including Adani Total Energies Limited, BPCL, Chargezone, and others, eHUB offers a seamless charging experience, available in 11 languages and equipped with trip-planning features.

In a bid to promote sustainability and a circular economy, MG Motor also launched Project REVIVE. This initiative, in collaboration with TERI, Lohum, and BatX, focuses on repurposing EV batteries for use beyond cars. By converting used batteries into renewable energy storage systems, Project REVIVE provides power solutions for schools and community centres, reducing waste and extending the lifespan of EV batteries. A pilot project at a school in Mukteshwar has already demonstrated the practical benefits of this approach.

Another significant initiative is EVPEDIA, India’s first dedicated EV education and knowledge platform. Designed to provide reliable and engaging information about EV technology, costs, and maintenance, EVPEDIA aims to debunk myths and foster informed decisions among consumers. The platform includes practical tools such as cost-of-ownership calculators, government policy repositories, and interactive educational content, featuring an AI-powered chatbot for instant assistance.

Additionally, MG Motor announced the MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform (MG-Jio ICP), which will be standard in all upcoming MG vehicles. This platform redefines the in-car experience with features such as the MG App Store for in-car gaming, entertainment, and learning, voice commands in six Indian languages, and a Home-to-Car functionality.

Gaurav Gupta, Chief Growth Officer at JSW MG Motor India, stated 'DriEV.Bharat reflects our unwavering commitment to advancing EV technology and enhancing the user experience to accelerate EV adoption. With initiatives such as our unified charging platform, battery second-life project, EV education, and the MG-Jio ICP, we are empowering the industry and our customers with smarter, more sustainable choices.'
