JSW MG Motor India has announced the appointment of Anurag Mehrotra as its new Managing Director. With nearly three decades of experience in the automotive sector, Mehrotra has held leadership roles across sales, marketing, strategy, and business development. His past positions include Vice President of Strategy & International Business at Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles and President & Managing Director at Ford India. Based in Gurugram, he will be responsible for steering JSW MG Motor India’s strategic growth initiatives while strengthening the company’s core brand pillars of diversity, experience, innovation, and community.
The leadership change follows the tenure of Rajeev Chaba, who played a key role in establishing MG as a significant brand in the Indian automobile industry. Under his leadership, MG Motor India introduced several innovative products that positioned the company as a disruptor in multiple segments. Chaba’s focus on diversity, transparency, and customer engagement helped the company build a strong market presence. He will continue to support the company as a member of the Joint Steering Committee, advising both management and shareholders.
Yu De, Assistant to SAIC President and Head of International Operations, SAIC Motor, acknowledged Chaba’s contributions to MG’s success in India. He stated that Mehrotra’s experience and understanding of both domestic and international markets would be crucial in driving the brand’s next phase of growth.
