JK Tyre & Industries has been awarded the Mahatma Award 2024 for CSR Excellence and Social Impact. This award highlights the company’s ongoing efforts to positively influence society through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes.
JK Tyre has made significant strides in sustainable development and community building through a range of CSR initiatives. These programmes are centred on key areas such as education, healthcare, environment, and water conservation. In addition to this, JK Tyre supports self-help groups and focuses on reproductive and child healthcare. These initiatives are part of the company’s larger mission to uplift marginalised communities and create long-term positive change.
The recognition was presented by Dr Kiran Bedi, former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, to Anil K Makkar, Group Chief Sustainability Officer and Manufacturing Director at JK Tyre. Anuj Kathuria, President of JK Tyre & Industries in India, noted that the Mahatma Award serves as an important recognition of their work, reinforcing the belief that JK Tyre’s social efforts are on the right path.
The Mahatma Award recognises efforts across the private, public, and development sectors. Instituted by the Mahatma Foundation in collaboration with the Aditya Birla Group and Liveweek Group, the award continues to celebrate the most effective and responsible social initiatives in India.
