Designed and engineered in India for light electric vehicles (LEVs), LECCS is now integrated into the JMT 1000 SW model.

Jitendra EV Adopts LECCS mobility outlook

Jitendra EV has announced the adoption of the IS17017 (Part 2 / Sec 7) standard, commonly known as the LECCS (Light Electric Combined Charging System) connector, for its electric scooter, the JMT 1000 SW. This move is expected to significantly enhance the accessibility of charging infrastructure for Jitendra EV users by providing them access to Ather’s extensive fast-charging network, AtherGrid.

Currently, the JMT 1000 SW is the only model in Jitendra EV’s lineup that benefits from access to Ather’s fast-charging network. However, Jitendra EV has plans to extend this solution to other models in the future, with the goal of enhancing the overall experience for electric vehicle (EV) owners by providing more seamless and efficient charging options.

The JMT 1000 SW, a versatile electric scooter, is tailored for both business and personal use, boasting a gross vehicle weight of 255 kg and a payload capacity of 150 kg. Its design includes tubeless tyres on alloy wheels, front disc brakes, and rear drum brakes, ensuring safety and comfort during rides. The scooter’s ground clearance of 175 mm further allows it to navigate a variety of terrains with ease. Powering the JMT 1000 SW is a battery developed by The Energy Company, which provides a range of up to 100 kilometres per charge and can be fully recharged in just 50 minutes.

The decision to adopt the LECCS standard follows a successful pilot program conducted in Goa, where Jitendra EV tested the charging solution under real-world conditions. The success of this pilot has paved the way for the commercial production of the JMT 1000 SW with LECCS compatibility, ensuring that customers across India can benefit from this advanced technology.
