The aerospace certification agency, NVT Services, has awarded Jindal Aluminium the AS 9100D Aerospace Certification (based on and including ISO 9001:2015). With a 2.2 lakh MT annual capacity and over INR 4,500 crore turnover, the company has now become a qualified extrusion manufacturer for the aviation, space, and defence industry.
Pragun Khaitan, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, said the certification would pave the way for the company’s strategic expansion plans, consolidate its domestic and international reach in the industry and meet the rigorous quality standards demanded by the growing aviation, space and defence segment.
The accreditation was awarded to Jindal Aluminium’s Bangalore facility following the completion of a stringent two-stage audit process by NVT Services. The certification process commenced in January 2023, and Jindal Aluminium received the certificate in June 2023
Developed jointly by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the European Association of Aerospace Industries, AS9100D is a benchmark for ensuring the quality standards needed in aviation, space and defence manufacturing and supply chain processes.
Jindal Aluminium was founded in 1968 and is the largest producer of Aluminium extruded and the second-largest producer of Aluminium flat-rolled products in India.
