JettWings Airways, a new regional carrier will soon start offering commuter air transport services to North East India.
The airline announced that it had received its No Objection Certificate to commence operations from the Ministry of Civil Aviation. It plans to operate on 16 routes and is slated to start commercial flights before the end of the year. The airline is looking to operate on UDAN (UdeDesh ka Aam Nagrik) regional air connectivity scheme routes. It will start operations with two aircraft on lease and will look to acquire additional aircraft by mid-2024.
JettWings will join the regional airline Star Air, in becoming only the second Indian airline to operate Embraer E175 regional transport aircraft.
Its aircraft will be configured in a two-Class 76 seat layout with 12 business class and 64 economy class seats. The airline’s promotional material posted on twitter, also indicates that it could acquire ATR-42/72 turboprop sometime in the future.
