Jet Airways completed its first providing flight recently, marking an important milestone for the revival of the airline.
The route chosen for the flight was Delhi-Bombay-Delhi, which was completed on a recently re-leased VT-SXE Boeing 737-800 NG.
The Delhi based airline is scheduled to perform another proving flight on May 17.
Proving flights are comparable to commercial flights and are regarded as the final phase for an air operator certificate (AOC).
However, the crew on these flights are accompanied by authorities from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), as well as executives and flight crew from the carrier in concern.
Jet Airways' owners, the Jalan-Kalrock consortium have announced plans to restart operations in the Q3 of this year, using six narrow body Boeing 737s.
The airline plans to operate these flights with an all-female cabin crew.
Jet Airways had ceased operations on April 17, 2019.
