JCBL Limited has launched a Dental Clinic on Wheels to serve the remote regions of Ladakh. This effort aims to address the lack of accessible healthcare in remote areas by providing essential dental services directly to rural communities. The mobile clinic is a part of a broader attempt to deliver advanced dental care to underserved regions.

The vehicle has been designed to navigate Ladakh's challenging and rugged terrain. The mobile unit built to endure the harsh environment brings necessary healthcare services to areas where access is limited. The clinic can operate for 3 to 4 days in remote locations allowing medical teams to provide consistent care to isolated communities.

The clinic has been customised to maximise efficiency with all necessary dental equipment integrated into the compact space. It includes a foldable dental chair, wall-mounted fixtures, and a base stool for medical staff, all within a caravan chassis. This transformation allows minor operations and essential dental care to be delivered on-site. Designed to handle challenging conditions, the clinic is also equipped with practical features such as a first aid kit, a toolbox, a document box, an ambulance siren, and a foldable ladder, ensuring functionality and ease of access.

This Dental Clinic on Wheels, according to Dinesh Dua, Business Head of JCBL Limited, demonstrates JCBL's dedication to innovation and its ability to adapt to specific regional challenges. The initiative, known as Project Smile Himalaya, is backed by Rotary International from Germany and Bangalore along with the Swami Vivekananda Sewa Trust in Karnataka and Vision Himalaya in Ladakh.
