iVOOMi Energy, an e-mobility, has teamed up with the Mechanic (Repairing Shops) Association, a renowned automobile training organisation, to empower garage owners across Maharashtra.

The two entities will train over 2,500 garage owners in the next six months, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge to repair and maintain E-scooters. Post-training, these garages will be certified by iVOOMi Energy, which will also provide engineering, technical, and spare parts support to ensure trusted post-sales service for iVOOMi consumers.

Currently, 17 garage owners in Pune, Maharashtra, have already started training under this programme. The comprehensive training covers various aspects of the EV business, including fundamentals of electric vehicles, future need of electric vehicles, different EV parts, battery technology & maintenance, troubleshooting techniques, scheduled maintenance procedures, EV sales, service, and spare parts business.

Ashwin Bhandari, Co-Founder and CEO of iVOOMi Energy, said, though E2Ws are leading the e-mobility adoption, the shortage of quality after-sales service touchpoints has been a hindrance. By collaborating with the association, we are expanding our after-sales support system and investing in the future of e-mobility in India.

Santosh Pawar, Vice President of the Mechanic Association, highlighted the initiative's importance, saying that this partnership will upskill thousands of garage owners and mechanics to meet the growing demand for EV maintenance services. It will help them earn a higher livelihood and contribute to a greener future.
