Iochpe-Maxion SA, the world’s leading automotive wheel manufacturer and a key producer of structural components in the Americas, has announced a major leadership transition.

Pieter Klinkers, the current CEO of Maxion Wheels, will assume the role of President and CEO of Iochpe-Maxion SA, succeeding Marcos Oliveira, who will step down at the end of his term in line with the company’s senior leadership succession plan. The transition will take effect on April 16, 2025.

With over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, Klinkers has played a pivotal role in leading Maxion Wheels since 2015. Before joining Iochpe-Maxion, he worked for Michelin for a decade and later transitioned to Hayes Lemmerz Inc., which was later acquired by Iochpe-Maxion. His extensive expertise in global wheel manufacturing and strategic leadership positions him well to steer Iochpe-Maxion into its next phase of growth.

Replacing Klinkers as the new CEO of Maxion Wheels will be Mark Gerardts, currently serving as Business Unit President for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Gerardts, who joined the company in 2015, has held several leadership roles with increasing responsibilities, making him well-equipped to lead Maxion Wheels' global operations.

Marcos Oliveira To Join The Board

As part of the leadership transition, Marcos Oliveira has been nominated for a position on Iochpe-Maxion’s Board of Directors. His nomination will be presented during the next general shareholders' meeting on April 16, 2025. Oliveira’s deep industry experience and strategic insight will continue to contribute to the company’s long-term vision.

Smooth, Strategic Transition

Iochpe-Maxion has reaffirmed its commitment to a well-prepared and seamless leadership transition, ensuring continuity in management and strategic direction. With a strong focus on innovation, operational excellence, and global expansion, the company is poised for a new era of leadership and sustained growth under Pieter Klinkers and Mark Gerardts.
