Leading innovator of brake technology for automotive vehicles, Brembo has introduced Sensify, a new pioneering intelligent braking system that integrates the advanced software based on Artificial Intelligence - AI with its brake components.
The company said that Sensify is expected to be on the market from the beginning of 2024.
Sensify comes from the merge of two words: Sense, a faculty by which a human perceives an external signal, stimulus, and Simplify, which means simplicity in installing the product in harmony with the vehicle.
The new braking system combines the current product portfolio of callipers, discs and friction materials with digital technology. It creates a flexible platform that includes software, predictive algorithms and data management to control the brake system digitally.
According to the company, the new braking system is no longer a sum of its parts but an ecosystem where AI and software play an active role. In addition, data collection is leveraged to improve the driver experience and allows the system to be constantly updated. Hence, it continually delivers the best of two worlds: driving pleasure and total safety. It is intuitive, responsive and smooth; it provides the driver with the expected performance when needed, combined with exceptional control.
In addition, it opens up opportunities in car design, offering flexibility for carmakers and simplifying integration in any electric and internal combustion engine platform – from super sport to city car and, potentially, to the latest commercial vehicles.
Daniele Schillaci, Chief Executive Officer, Brembo, said, “By introducing Sensify, Brembo is pushing the boundaries of what is possible with a braking system, opening up entirely new opportunities to drivers to improve their experience on the road and customise brake response to their driving style. Sensify gives drivers the peace of mind they are looking for.”
