Igus India Expands mobility outlook

Igus India has expanded its operations with the inauguration of a new 92,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Mandur, near Budigere, Bengaluru. The new facility, spread over two acres, represents an investment of over INR 100 crore (approximately 12 million euros). The financial commitment includes INR 20 crore dedicated to setting up the factory, INR 40 crore allocated for advanced injection moulding machines, and INR 20 crore for other manufacturing processes. This state-of-the-art plant is equipped with cutting-edge technology designed to meet the high standards of motion plastics production, ensuring that Igus continues to deliver high-quality products to its customers.

Igus India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the German-based Igus GmbH, has been a key player in the Indian market since its establishment in 2000. The company, which serves over 19,000 customers across the country, offers a wide range of products with an extensive catalogue of 125,000 parts. With over 200 new products introduced annually, Igus India remains committed to innovation and meeting customer demands.

The Bengaluru plant is part of Igus’s broader strategy to enhance its operational capabilities and support its growing customer base in India. The company is also planning to establish logistics and assembly centres in Pune, Gurugram, and Noida, further expanding its footprint in the country.

Deepak Paul, Managing Director of Igus India, highlighted the strategic importance of this expansion, noting that the Indian market offers significant potential for the company. He emphasised that Igus’s global focus on cost-effective and sustainable solutions aligns well with the Indian approach to technology and innovation. This alignment has been a key factor in the company’s impressive growth in the region.

Igus India has seen significant market growth over the past two years, with revenues rising from INR 199 crore to INR 313 crore. The company expects this growth trajectory to continue, projecting a revenue of INR 340 crore for 2024. Additionally, Igus India is planning to establish a clean room testing facility in India, following a similar investment in Germany, to further enhance its product development and quality assurance capabilities.
