iCreate Awards INR 42 Lakh To EV Innovators In EVangelise

iCreate (International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology), India's premier tech-innovation-based start-up incubator, has announced the winners of EVangelise '23, India’s largest EV innovation challenge.

In a bid to support India's 2030 vision of having EVs represent 80% of all two- and three-wheeler sales, EVangelise '23 identified and recognized outstanding innovations. A total of INR 42 lakh in cash prizes was awarded to 12 winners and promising innovators based on technical evaluation, market relevance, and implementation strategies.

The participants demonstrated solutions spanning various aspects of the EV industry, including battery safety, EV infrastructure, and advanced technologies. Entries covered themes such as Traction, Energy and Telematics, Intelligence, and Connectivity (TIC). The cash prizes were distributed across two categories: INR 15 lakh for winners below Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5 and INR 25 lakh for TRL 5 & above.

Vijigi Energy Private Limited, a Gujarat-based startup, secured the first position in the TRL 5 & above category for their Integrated Electrical and Controls Platform for Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV). Auklr Technologies Private Limited from Bangalore claimed the second spot for their Android-based EV instrument clusters, while Chennai-based Blaer Motors secured the third position for developing a smart 500W Motor Controller Unit for E-bikes and mopeds.

The EVangelise '23 finale brought together industry leaders and thought influencers in the EV ecosystem, providing an opportunity for knowledge-sharing and networking. Distinguished speakers included representatives from MG Motors India, Nikola Motor Company, Tata Technologies, and the Sahasra Group, among others.

iCreate's CEO, Avinash Punekar, expressed pride in the success of EVangelise '23, highlighting the platform's role in accelerating innovation and addressing critical issues faced by the global EV industry. He reiterated iCreate's commitment to supporting innovators on their journey and contributing to India's rise as a leader in the EV domain.

The event also marked the announcement of the winners of the inaugural RISC-V challenge, recognizing outstanding applications tailored for EVs.
