Innovation-based start-up incubator iCreate has announced its strategic partnerships with industry leaders and Government organisations from across the country to support EVangelise ’22, the EV innovation challenge.
The partners for EVaneglise’22 include Startup India, CII-CIES, MeitY Startup Hub, Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL), Sona Comstar, Aditya Auto Products Engg, MathWorks India, Altair Engineering India and Ansys, among others.
In the first stage, the partners will actively mentor and share their expertise through the bootcamp stage to ensure that participants can navigate challenges effectively and validate their ideas.
Meanwhile, the second edition of the EVangelise is focused on building collaborations between the Indian manufacturing industry and early-stage start-ups, engineering students, institutions and EV enthusiasts by solving real-world challenges in the EV industry.
Under this, the partners will provide participants access to a global network of industry stalwarts who will nurture their ideas and help them take their products to the market.
In addition to locating the next generation of innovators, the challenge will look into chances to develop answers in battery safety and EV infrastructure.
The top three winners in both categories will receive cash awards of INR 10 lakh, INR 7.5 lakh, and INR5 lakh, and consolation prizes of INR3 lakh to three teams in each category and up to INR 1.5 crore of incubation support.

With such expertise coming together, iCrerate aims to assist some of the revolutionary start-ups with the best of resources and technology and strengthen the nation’s vision to showcase the preparedness and commitment towards the growth of Atmanirbhar Bharat, Punekar noted.

Jeet Vijayvargiya, CEO, MeitY Start-up Hub, noted that electric vehicles are the future, and India is leading the charge. The company is committed to promoting the development of the EV Startup ecosystem, and the partnership with iCreate’s EVangelise ’22 is just one way of working towards making EVs a reality by 2025.
Meanwhile, Sameet Pai, Head of Corporate Strategy, BPCL, said that as the company expands its EV charging infrastructure footprint through EVangelise’22, it looks forward to collaborating with promising Start-ups and co-create innovative solutions to power electric mobility in India.
Kiran Deshmukh, CTO, Sona Comstar, stated that it is important for Indian companies to create and own futuristic technology and intellectual property, going beyond merely licensing and manufacturing.
“EVangelise could help create a technology package that can be used by mass manufacturers for accelerating EV adoption in India, as well as to gain a leading position in the global market,” he added.
