IAF Inducts 1st C295 Transport Aircraft Into Service

The induction of an aircraft into squadron service marks the beginning of a new aircraft’s service with the IAF. The C295 Squadron will be based at Vadodara in Gujarat.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has inducted the first Airbus Defence C295 transport aircraft into No 11 Squadron ‘Rhinos’ at Air Force Station, Hindan in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. 

Attending the induction ceremony along with IAF chief Air Marshal VR Chaudhari, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that the induction of C295 will bolster the medium-lift tactical capability of the IAF and termed the defence and aerospace sectors as the two important pillars for making India self-reliant in the coming years.

The first IAF squadron equipped with the aircraft, 11 Squadron (The Rhinos), is based at Vadodara in Gujarat.
