Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) has taken a significant step towards inclusivity and sports excellence by launching the 'Samarth Para-Sports Programme.' This initiative, in partnership with the GoSports Foundation, aims to provide comprehensive support to 20 para-athletes over the next three years. The program is part of Hyundai's broader 'Samarth by Hyundai' initiative, which focuses on creating a more inclusive society for people with disabilities.

The Samarth Para-Sports Program provides essential support to para-athletes, helping them achieve their full potential. This includes providing the necessary tools, guidance, and mentorship to thrive in their careers and personal lives. The program aims to unlock the potential of these athletes, fostering independence and propelling their dreams forward.

The company has implemented several measures to improve accessibility within its operations, including the launch of the TurnPlus swivel seat mechanism, designed to enhance vehicle accessibility for individuals with special needs. Hyundai has also committed to distributing assistive devices to 684 people with disabilities in India over the next three years.

The initiative covers eight key sports categories: Para-Athletics, Para-Swimming, Para-Badminton, Wheelchair Tennis, Para-Archery, Para-Rowing, Para-Canoeing, and Para-Cycling. This support aims to help these athletes achieve their full potential and represent India on the global stage.

The selected athletes, ranging from emerging talents aged 13 and above to elite athletes aged 16 and above, will receive the necessary resources and mentorship to excel. The program aims to foster independence, unlock potential, and propel dreams forward. This initiative is not just about nurturing talent but also about enhancing India's stature on the global stage and inspiring future generations.
