Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has entered into a strategic partnership with CHARGE ZONE to enhance the EV charging infrastructure across India. Under this collaboration, CHARGE ZONE will install DC 60 kW fast chargers at 100 Hyundai dealerships nationwide. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Jae Wan Ryu, Function Head - Corporate Planning, HMIL, and Kartikey Hariyani, Founder & CEO of CHARGE ZONE, at the HMIL headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana.
Currently, HMIL operates 34 EV fast charging stations across the country. This new initiative will expand the network significantly, enhancing accessibility and reducing range anxiety among EV users. Jae Wan Ryu stated “All EV users (Hyundai & Non-Hyundai) will benefit from the augmented network of DC fast charging stations, accessible through the ‘myHyundai’ app or through the ‘CHARGE ZONE’ app. Such strategic alliances are crucial for accelerating the adoption of electric mobility solutions by customers and achieving India’s carbon neutrality goals.”
Currently, 19 Hyundai dealerships are equipped with DC 60 kW public EV charging stations. With the new collaboration, an additional 100 charging stations will be installed, offering a reliable and hassle-free charging experience, along with a 24x7 customer support system. HMIL’s holistic EV roadmap includes significant investments in building a robust EV charging network with DC 180 kW and DC 60 kW chargers. Apart from the dealership network, HMIL operates 15 more fast charging stations across key cities and highways in nine Indian states.
HMIL has also developed a dedicated Charging Management System (CMS) platform, “EV Charge,” hosted within the “myHyundai” mobile app. This platform enables EV customers across all OEM brands to access a seamless charging experience, including locating charging points, booking charging slots, remote monitoring, and digital payments. The CHARGE ZONE network of chargers is also integrated into the “EV Charge” section of the “myHyundai” app, along with HMIL’s own chargers and those from third-party charging point operators.
