In a bid to spearhead the electric vehicle adoption in India and facilitate the charging experience for both intercity and intra-city travel, Hyundai Motor India (HMI) has announced the installation of its ultra-high-speed public EV charging network across key highways and cities in India. These charging stations are open to the public and all passenger EV owners.

With the first two charging stations open to the public from February 1, 2023, HMI will further expand to install such charging stations across other highways and cities.

A press release from HMI noted that each fast-charging station will comprise one unit of a DC 150 kW ultra-fast charger and one unit of a DC 60 kW high-speed charger.

The charging stations are installed at locations with adequate customer amenities like coffee shops/ restaurants to induce customer delight while charging their electric vehicles. Additionally, the charging stations are manned with marshals to assist EV users 24x7 to enable a seamless charging experience.
