
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has completed 25 years of exports, solidifying its position as India’s largest exporter of passenger vehicles. Since beginning its export operations in 1999, HMIL has shipped over 3.7 million Made in India vehicles to global markets.
The Hyundai i10 family has emerged as a key contributor surpassing the 1.5 million export milestone. Additionally, the Verna family achieved 500,000 cumulative exports. In 2024 alone, HMIL exported 1,58,686 vehicles, with Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Mexico, Chile, and Peru ranking among the top export markets by volume.
Hyundai’s commitment to African markets was further cemented in 2024 as the company exceeded 1 million cumulative exports to the continent. The launch of the Hyundai Exter in South Africa marked the eighth Made in India model for the South African market, demonstrating HMIL’s strategic focus on providing region-specific smart mobility solutions.
Unsoo Kim, Managing Director, HMIL, stated that Hyundai’s achievements reflect the trust in Indian engineering and craftsmanship while reinforcing the company’s ambition to position India as Hyundai’s largest export hub outside South Korea.
