Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) recently hosted a town hall meeting at its Gurugram headquarters, featuring José Muñoz, President & CEO of Hyundai Motor Company (HMC).

Muñoz’s visit reaffirmed Hyundai’s long-term investment and expansion strategy in India, highlighting the company’s customer-centric approach, focus on quality, and commitment to fostering innovation and excellence. He praised HMIL’s consistent record-breaking performance, emphasizing its role as India’s second-largest passenger vehicle manufacturer and a key contributor to Hyundai’s global operations.

'HMIL is a world-class automotive manufacturing and regional export hub, integral to Hyundai’s global vision. India is the third-largest market for Hyundai worldwide, and with HMIL’s IPO, we are well-positioned to expand new product offerings and enhance production capacity. As HMIL approaches its 30th anniversary in 2026, I am confident it will continue setting new benchmarks in the Indian automotive industry,' said Muñoz.

Expanding Hyundai’s EV Portfolio In India

With Hyundai targeting 2 million EV sales globally by 2030, India is set to play a pivotal role in the company’s electric mobility strategy. Muñoz highlighted HMIL’s aggressive plans to expand its EV portfolio, ensuring greater accessibility and suitability for Indian consumers. Hyundai will also invest in infrastructure development to support the growing EV ecosystem, aligning with India’s push for green mobility solutions.

Talegaon Facility To Boost Local Manufacturing

To meet rising demand, HMIL’s upcoming manufacturing facility in Talegaon, Maharashtra, will enhance local production capabilities. The plant will support domestic and export markets, further positioning India as a global manufacturing hub.
