Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has achieved a new record for domestic sales in a calendar year as it reported a 9% growth, reaching 6,02,111 units in CY2023, surpassing the previous year's 5,52,511 units. Additionally, export performance saw a notable 10% increase, with 1,63,675 units shipped in CY2023.
Tarun Garg, COO, HMIL, said, “HMIL has not just kept pace but surpassed industry growth (estimated at around 8.2%), a testament to customers choosing brand Hyundai as their preferred mobility brand. Also in 2023, we proactively expanded our annual production capacity by 50,000 units to meet the increasing demand from our customers.”
He also highlighted the company's commitment to safety, having standardised six airbags across all models and trims. With a 5-star rating for Hyundai Verna from GNCAP and the successful launch of Hyundai Exter with over 1 lakh bookings, HMIL demonstrates a strong customer appeal. In line with Hyundai's group vision of Progress for Humanity, HMIL has initiated 'Samarth,' a corporate endeavour supporting differently-abled individuals and fostering inclusivity. He reaffirmed to bring forth products and technologies that align with customer aspirations.
