Hyundai Motor India has announced that the upcoming Ioniq 5 will feature ADAS Level 2 features. In addition, with the Hyundai SmartSense, the EV will boast 21 ADAS features as standard.
Notably, the Hyundai SmartSense debuted in India with the launch of the Tucson in August 2022.
Unsoo Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India, said, “Hyundai Ioniq 5 will become the second model in our line-up to present this smart and intuitive technology to our customers.”
Hyundai SmartSense uses equipment such as front radar, front camera and rear radars to detect and mitigate risks of collision, offering the driver adequate warning and if necessary, automatically applying countermeasures to offset an impact. Safe Exit Assist (SEA) also helps avoid collisions with a rear-side vehicle when exiting. SEA also helps keep the door closed through an electronic child lock.
Other ADAS features include forward collision warning, forward collision-avoidance assist, blind-spot collision warning, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, driver attention warning, blind-spot view monitor and safe exit warning. Besides, it has smart cruise control with stop & go, lane following assist, high beam assist, leading vehicle departure alert, rear occupant alert, rear cross-traffic collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision- avoidance assist, surround view monitor and rear occupant alert.
