The Indian subsidiary of South Korean Carmaker, Hyundai Motor India Limited is all set to launch six and seven seater Alcazar within this month. Before the launch, the carmaker has started accepting booking via its online platform click to buy by depositing an amount of INR 25,000, it said in a press release.
According to the company, it has sold over six lakh units of Creta since 2015 and with Alcazar aims to tap into the existing Creta customer base who wants to upgrade.
Apart from this, Hyundai Alcazar fills the gap between Creta and Tucson. The Creta is priced between INR 9.99 lakh - INR 17.54 lakh while Tucson is priced between INR 22.55 lakh - INR 27.33 lakh
Experts say there is a tendency for SUV buyers to upgrade their vehicle every 5-6 years. Also, SUV buyers usually look for seven seater variants as they want to move along with their families and also use the vehicle for weekend getaways. So with new segment features and large seating capacities, Alcazar becomes a natural upgrade.
With Alcazar, India’s second largest carmaker now has SUVs from INR 7 lakh - INR 25 lakh.
Hyundai Alcazar will fight the competition against the likes of Tata Safari, Mahindra XU500, MG Hector Plus and Toyota Innova. According to numbers of Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures (SIAM), the seven-seater/three row SUV comprises 10,000-12,000 units.
Hyundai Alcazar comes with segment first features such as 10.25 inch Multi Display Digital Cluster, Bose Premium Sound System (8 Speakers), Auto Healthy Air Purifier with AQI display, Side Foot Step, Rear Window Sunshade, Front Row Seat Back Table with Retractable cup-holder and IT Device Holder.
Alcazar will offer the Longest Wheelbase of 2,760 mm, 64 colours ambient lighting and power Driver Seat - 8 Way, the company claims.
In terms of engine options, Hyundai Alcazar comes with 6-Speed Manual and 6-Speed Automatic transmissions with 2.0 l Petrol MPi engine & 1.5 l Diesel CRDi engine.
