India’s second-largest car manufacturer, Hyundai Motor India (HMI), on Tuesday opened its corporate headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana.
Spread over 28,000 square meters, the corporate headquarters was inaugurated in the presence of Manohar Lal, Chief Minister of Haryana, and Chang Jae-Bok, Ambassador, Republic of Korea.
S S Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India, said, “The new headquarters stands as a symbol of Hyundai’s journey of togetherness with the people of India. The new building has been built on the tenets of Hyundai’s global vision Progress for Humanity.”
The company has named the new corporate headquarter as ‘Centre of Transformation’. It will house critical functions such as sales, marketing, aftersales, finance, and HR under one roof.
The company has spent over INR 1,000 crore in acquiring the land and building in Sector 29, Gurugram, a top executive told media on the sidelines of the opening ceremony.
The carmaker acquired three acres of land distributed in two plots and expects to bring a brand experience centre in the adjacent building that will be opened in the next two years, for which the company will invest INR 1,000 crore.
According to the company, with a strong commitment towards people and the environment, this headquarters will be a focal point of innovation and realise Hyundai Motor India’s vision of ‘Progress for the People, Prosperity for the Planet’.
The new premises has four basement floors and six main floors. It also features a 400 square metre green wall with live plants, 50 kW solar panels on its rooftop, and 14 EV Charging Units (three DC Fast Charging & 11 AC Normal Charging) to make it environment friendly.
So far, the company has invested over $4 billion in India. It has 17 regional offices and 2 449 customer touchpoints across India.
