Hyundai Motor India has recorded a sales achievement with the Hyundai Creta emerging as the highest-selling model across all vehicle segments in India for March 2025. The company sold 18,059 units of the Creta during the month, underlining the strong demand for mid-size SUVs in the country. In the final quarter of the financial year 2024-25, between January and March, the model led the SUV segment with a cumulative sale of 52,898 units. Hyundai's data confirms that the Creta also finished the financial year as the third highest-selling passenger vehicle in India, clocking a total of 1,94,871 units sold. This marks a 20 percent year-on-year growth, making it the highest-ever annual sales for the model since its launch.

Additionally, 69 percent of customers opted for variants with sunroof, and 38 percent chose versions equipped with connected car features. This data suggests that consumers are increasingly valuing comfort, connectivity and added convenience in their vehicles.

Hyundai Motor India reports that the rise in Creta sales has played a key role in the company’s SUV portfolio growth, pushing the share of SUVs in total Hyundai sales to 68.5 percent in FY 2024-25 compared to 63.2 percent in the previous year. The recent launch of the CRETA Electric variant further contributed to this shift, as Hyundai works to diversify its product offerings in favour of sustainability and electric mobility.

Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India, noted that over 1.2 million units have been sold in India since its debut in 2015, establishing the Creta as a dependable choice for buyers looking for value and modern features in a mid-size SUV. The introduction of electric options in the Creta range is also expected to play a key role in Hyundai’s future growth and contribution to India’s transition to cleaner transport.
