Bookings for the Hyundai Creta N Line have opened and with it a surprise. The car will be offered with a manual gearbox! This is a surprising trend considering that most of the competition at the higher end of the scale where this car will exist is only offered with an automatic.
The engine in question is Hyundai’s 1.5-litre GDi turbo petrol producing 158bhp/253Nm and also being offered with a seven-speed DSG automatic. This is the same engine used in the Hyundai Alcazar, Kia Seltos and the Kia Carens.
The Creta N Line will be launched in the N8 and N10 variants, the equivalent of the SX and SX (O) from the regular Creta. Both variants will get the option of the manual gearbox with an expected price difference of around Rs one lakh between both transmission options. Colour options include black pearl, white, matte grey and the signature blue of the N Line range that’s common for the Venue N Line and i20 N Line.
Hyundai’s performance SUV will face up against the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo, Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus and the Kia Seltos X-Line.
