The much anticipated Hyundai Creta N-Line has been launched in India with a starting price of Rs 16.82 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the Korean automaker’s third N-Line model and was a much-anticipated model since the Creta facelift was launched at the start of this year.
This special edition Creta can be had in two trims- N8 and N10 and across eight variants and seven colour options. On the outside, Hyundai has given the car new bumpers, paint schemes and wheels while inside, the whole cabin has been trimmed out in black with red accents.
The N8 trim is based on the standard car’s SX trim while the N10 is based on the fully-loaded SX (O) trim. The latter gets things like level-2 ADAS, dual screens, power driver’s seat, Hyundai Blue Link connected car technology, 360-degree camera, rear seat recline and armrest for the driver and second row.
The party piece of the Creta N-Line is its 1.5-litre GDi turbo petrol engine that produces 158bhp/253Nm. The standard Creta is only offered with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic while here, for the first time, also gets a six-speed manual gearbox.
Hyundai has finally stepped into the special SUV race and will now take on cars like the Kia Seltos X-Line, Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo, Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus and the MG Astor Blackstorm. Its advantage, on paper at least, is that it is the most featured loaded vehicle and is also the only one to offer a manual gearbox with a GDi turbo petrol in this price bracket.
