Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) has officially launched a unique memorabilia business aimed at bringing historic racing artefacts to fans and collectors worldwide. In a move that blends motorsport heritage with emotional ownership, the company is offering dismantled parts from iconic machines such as the Honda RA100E Formula One engine that powered Ayrton Senna and Gerhard Berger in the 1990 season. These genuine components will be available for purchase, starting with a debut at the Monterey Car Week this summer in the United States.

This initiative marks the first time HRC is commercialising physical pieces of its racing history. Items such as pistons, camshafts, cam covers and connecting rods from the RA100E V10 engine are being released. All these parts have been meticulously disassembled by original Honda engineers at the Sakura City facility in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. The parts are presented in high-quality display cases and come with an official certificate of authenticity issued by HRC.

While no specific price tags have been announced yet, the historical and emotional value of these items could place them in the high-end memorabilia segment, with prices likely to vary significantly depending on the part and its role in racing history. Interested collectors will be able to view and potentially acquire these pieces later this year in Monterey, with more international events likely to follow.

The new memorabilia business reflects Honda’s desire to deepen fan engagement by allowing enthusiasts to own tangible relics of motorsport history. Koji Watanabe, President, HRC, stated that this is not a one-off marketing move but the beginning of a sustained business. He said the company wants to create long-term value by letting fans participate in Honda’s rich journey through racing, which started back in the 1950s.

The inaugural offering focuses on parts from the 1990 F1 season, during which the RA100E engine played a central role in McLaren-Honda's success. Ayrton Senna, driving with this engine, secured his second Formula One World Championship title. The emotional and historical weight carried by these components is likely to make them highly sought after by collectors.

In addition to Formula One items, HRC is preparing to release further collectibles from its participation in the IndyCar series and historic racing motorcycles, including MotoGP and Isle of Man TT machines. These could soon be made available through private sales or dedicated auctions.

The Collection Hall at Mobility Resort Motegi and the Honda Racing Gallery at Suzuka Circuit have long preserved many of these historic machines in running condition. The spare parts selected for sale have been carefully chosen to ensure they do not compromise the upkeep of the operational displays.
