Hop Electric claims to have received 5,000 bookings for its upcoming electric motorcycle Hop OXO. The Jaipur-based OEM is planning to launch the electric bike in India in August 2022.
The company is aiming to retail over 50,000 electric vehicles (EV) during the next 12 months, noted Rajneesh Singh, Chief Marketing Officer, HOP Electric Mobility. He said, 'We did anticipate demand, but clocking 5,000 bookings from our dealer partners even before the commercial launch is overwhelming, to say the least. For now, we have put the next booking window for dealer partners on hold as retail bookings will open soon.'
Designed and developed in India, Hop OXO has completed 100,000 km of road testing across 14 Indian States. The upcoming electric motorcycle had received a green flag from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) last month.
The company has been on a dealership opening spree and has inaugurated over 60 new dealerships in India during the last six months. It has recently closed a strategic round of $2.6 million as part of its ongoing USD 10 million pre-series fundraise.
The company has also become the mandate holder of the Government of India's (GOI) ambitious Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for auto under the new Non-Automotive Investor (OEM) category.
