The Indian e2W startup Hop Electric on Wednesday announced the inauguration of 24 brand experience centres across India.
According to the press release from the company, this move is in line with its vision to launch experience centres for the end consumer.
Vivek Tomar, Chief Business Officer, HOP Electric Mobility, said India sells about 20 million two-wheelers per year, including about six million scooters and bikes. The two-wheeler industry is going through a paradigm shift from ICE operated vehicles to electric vehicles. For the last year, India has seen rapid growth in sales of Electric Vehicles (EVs) as consumers rush to switch from ICE vehicles due to the rising cost of fuel, he said
Avinash Choudhary, Business Development Head - HOP Electric Mobility, said, “The exponential rise in demand for electric vehicles not just calls for OEMs ramping up the manufacturing process, but also warrants the need to build on the number of touchpoints that act as an interface between customers and our products.”
The company plans to launch a high-speed electric scooter and an electric bike with a claimed range of 150 kms and 120 kms, respectively.
