Honeywell has secured a contract to deliver advanced building automation solutions for Exide Energy Solutions Limited (EESL), a subsidiary of Exide Industries Ltd.

Honeywell will deploy its Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) platform at EESL’s upcoming 80-acre lithium-ion gigafactory campus in Bengaluru. The technology aims to enhance operational efficiency, improve incident response times, and optimise energy usage while ensuring robust security. The campus, set to be completed in 2025, will be Bengaluru’s first multi-gigawatt-hour lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility, addressing the surging global demand for electric vehicle batteries.

Atul Pai, Vice President and General Manager, Building Automation, Honeywell India, highlighted the significance of the project, stating, “Our integrated solutions advance safety and efficiency, supporting the production of batteries that power the future of electric vehicles.”

Dr Mandar Deo, CEO of Exide Energy Solutions, said, “Honeywell's expertise aligns with our vision for a technologically advanced and sustainable lithium-ion cell manufacturing unit.”
