Honeywell has announced the successful implementation of Phase One of the Bangalore Safe City project using the company’s smart and connected safety and security technology.
One of the aims of the Bangalore Safe City project was to secure a safe, efficient and empowering environment for women and girls in the city.
Ashish Modi, President, Honeywell India and Honeywell Building Technologies, Asia, said the first phase of the project had been completed in record time and that it is an example of how technology can be used to help improve the safety and security of all citizens in Bangalore, while at the same time helping city administrators make more informed choices in near real time.
“We are happy to partner with Honeywell in this first-of-its-kind safe city project. Bangalore is home to more than 11 million people of which, half are women. Honeywell’s state-of-the-art, advanced technology solutions will strengthen the Bengaluru City Police by improving real-time monitoring capabilities to make the city more safe and secure for all,” said CH Pratap Reddy, Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru.
Undertaken in collaboration with the Karnataka State Police, the project includes the installation of more than 7,000 cameras in more than 3,000 strategic locations across the city along with the creation of a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre for City Surveillance.
