Honda India Foundation (HIF) has launched ‘Project Annadata - Sashakt Kisan, Samridh Rashtra’ with the aim of empowering Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in Uttar Pradesh. The initiative, formalised through a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) signed with the Government of Uttar Pradesh, seeks to enhance resource access, improve market linkages, and drive sustainable development in the state’s agricultural sector. The signing ceremony took place in New Delhi in the presence of Surya Pratap Shahi, Uttar Pradesh’s Minister of Agriculture, and trustees of the Honda India Foundation, including Vinay Dhingra and Katsuyuki Ozawa.

Project Annadata will focus on strengthening 10 FPOs across two clusters, with five FPOs in each cluster. The initiative aims to engage with over 1 lakh individuals during its initial phase and has the potential to impact up to 10 lakh people in the long term. HIF’s implementation partner will also assist FPOs in creating robust business plans and enhancing operational efficiency.

Vinay Dhingra, Trustee of Honda India Foundation, stated “At Honda India Foundation, we are committed to empowering rural communities and enhancing agricultural productivity. This initiative aligns with the Government of India’s vision, as highlighted in the 2025 Union Budget, to promote sustainable agriculture, ensure fair prices for farmers, and strengthen grassroots agricultural ecosystems.”

The project aligns with several national priorities, including the Prime Minister Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana and the mission for Atmanirbharta in Pulses.
