Honda Cars India has launched a new limited edition of its popular sedan, the Honda City Apex Edition, adding premium enhancements to the existing V and VX variants. With the Apex Edition, Honda aims to provide a more premium experience by introducing a luxurious beige interior, a leatherette instrument panel, leatherette door padding, and a console garnish. The model also features rhythmic ambient lighting in seven colours on the instrument panel and door pockets, along with exclusive seat covers, cushions, and special Apex Edition badging on the fenders and trunk.

The Apex Edition is offered as an accessory package for the V and VX variants of the Honda City, with a limited availability period. While the changes are largely cosmetic, Honda claims that this edition adds a new level of refinement to the sedan.

Pricing for the Apex Edition reflects a noticeable increase over the standard variants (all mentioned prices ex-showroom). The V MT version is priced at INR 13.30 lakh, INR 25,000 more than the standard V MT model at INR 13.05 lakh. The V CVT variant now costs INR 14.55 lakh compared to the standard INR 14.30 lakh. The VX MT variant is priced at INR 14.37 lakh, marking a INR 25,000 increase from its standard price of INR 14.12 lakh. Similarly, the VX CVT variant is now available for INR 15.62 lakh, up from INR 15.37 lakh. Also note all Apex prices are for a limited time period.

Despite the premium features, the Apex Edition does not introduce mechanical upgrades, and Honda has positioned it purely as a style and comfort enhancement. Given the limited edition status and the price hike, the success of the Apex Edition will depend on whether customers see value in paying extra for largely aesthetic changes. With rising competition in the sedan market from newer rivals and SUVs gaining dominance, Honda's strategy of releasing a special edition may appeal to brand loyalists but may not be enough to attract new buyers in a segment that is facing increased pressure.
