Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has achieved a significant milestone with 50,000 ADAS-enabled Honda cars now on Indian roads, reinforcing its commitment to Honda’s global vision of 'Safety for Everyone' and its goal to achieve zero traffic collision fatalities by 2050.

Honda’s Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Honda SENSING, was first introduced in India with the launch of the Honda City e:HEV in May 2022, India’s first mainstream strong hybrid electric vehicle. Recognizing the growing demand for advanced safety features, HCIL has since expanded ADAS technology to its Honda City (March 2023), Honda Elevate (September 2023), and most recently, the all-new Honda Amaze (December 2024). The third-generation Amaze, now the most affordable ADAS-equipped car in India, has made cutting-edge safety technology more accessible to a wider range of customers.

Consumer Shift Towards ADAS Technology

Among customers who purchased ADAS-equipped models, one in two cited advanced safety technology as the primary reason for their choice, highlighting the growing importance of safety in Indian car buyers' decision-making process.

HCIL became the first automaker in India to introduce ADAS in manual transmission (MT) variants, starting with the Honda City in 2023. Currently, Honda SENSING is available in the V, VX, and ZX grades of the City, ZX grade of the Elevate, and ZX grade of the Amaze, offered in both MT and CVT variants and as a standard feature in the Honda City e:HEV.

Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd., stated, “Achieving the milestone of 50,000 ADAS-enabled vehicles on Indian roads reflects our unwavering commitment to enhancing safety for all. This achievement not only aligns with our global safety vision but also demonstrates the growing acceptance of advanced driver assistance technologies among Indian consumers. Every day, we strive to make our vehicles safer by continuously improving both active and passive safety features, ensuring a secure driving experience for everyone.”

By leading the way in ADAS adoption, expanding accessibility to cutting-edge safety features, and pioneering innovations in both manual and automatic transmission models, Honda Cars India continues to set new benchmarks in automotive safety, driving India toward a smarter, safer, and collision-free future.
