Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has officially received E20 petrol compliance certification for its entire range of vehicles, including the Honda Elevate, City e:HEV, City, and Amaze.

HCIL has been at the forefront of ethanol adoption since 2009, ensuring that all Honda cars manufactured in India from January 1, 2009, are E20 material compatible.

The certification comes ahead of the Government of India’s mandate, requiring all gasoline-fuelled vehicles—including hybrids—to comply with E20 fuel standards from April 1, 2025.

“All our cars have been E20 material compatible since 2009, allowing customers to adopt greener fuel effortlessly. This latest compliance certification aligns with India’s vision for a cleaner future, and we will continue to lead the way in sustainable automotive innovation,” said Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd.
