Hero MotoCorp’s new 125cc motorcycle, the Xtreme 125R has received a positive response in the market. The company didn’t anticipate the kind of demand that the motorcycle has garnered and is currently in a situation where demand outstrips supply. To address this issue, Hero will increase the production of the Xtreme 125R.
At present, the company sells 10,000 units of the Xtreme 125R in the market but there’s demand for a lot more. Hence, Hero will ramp up production of the Xtreme 125R to 1,000 units per day. This should effectively translate to about 20,000 to 25,000 units a month. The company hopes that the increase in production volume will significantly reduce the waiting time for the motorcycle, especially since the festive season will arrive in a few months.
The Hero Xtreme 125R is a brand new motorcycle that’s targeted towards the younger set of buyers who want a stylish commuter motorcycle while being easy on the pocket. The bike is powered by a 124.77cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 11.4bhp at 8,250rpm and a peak torque of 10.5Nm at 6,000rpm. It is refined and fuel efficient, managing to cover 56 kilometers in a litre of petrol.
The Hero Xtreme 125 R is available in two variants, IBS and single-channel ABS. These are priced at Rs 95,00 and 99,500, ex-showroom, Delhi. The bike goes up against the TVS Raider 125, which also manages to clock big numbers in the 125cc motorcycle space.
