Hero MotoCorp has launched the Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 in India at Rs. 82,911, ex-showroom. The bike commemorates 30 years of the Splendor, which has proven to be a reliable and fuel efficient commuter in all of its iterations.

The Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 bears a functional design, evident in the shape of the bodywork, the long seat and bits like a tail rack and hooks to carry luggage. What does enhance the appearance of the bike are the new colour options. The Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 is available in two-tone paint schemes of Matte Grey, Gloss Black and Gloss Red. Apart from that, this Hero commuter features an LED headlight and revised graphics as well.

Powering the Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 is a 100cc single-cylinder engine that makes 7.09bhp and 8.05Nm. This motor is linked to a four-speed gearbox and is known for being frugal.

When it comes to hardware, the Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 gets a telescopic front fork, dual rear shock absorbers, and a drum brake at both ends. In terms of features, the bike has a USB charger and a digital console with Bluetooth connectivity for call and SMS notifications.

The Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 costs Rs. 3,000 more than the outgoing bike. It rivals the Honda Shine 100 which recently crossed the 3-lakh unit sales mark.
