Hero Motors Company (HMC) has unveiled its ambitious vision to revolutionise global transportation during the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 in New Delhi. HMC has grown into a global mobility powerhouse with a presence across 18 locations worldwide and a workforce exceeding 7,500 professionals. Generating an annual revenue of USD 710 million, the company is a conglomerate of ten group businesses operating in six industries. With strategic partnerships involving global giants such as Yamaha, ZFFoxconn, Sumitomo Corporation, and marquee clients like BMW and Harley-Davidson, HMC has positioned itself as a key player in the global mobility ecosystem.
Pankaj Munjal, Chairman and Managing Director, HMC, highlighted the rapid growth of the e-cycle market, particularly in Tier 1 cities, driven by increasing urbanisation and health consciousness. He described the segment as the fastest-growing within the electric vehicle space, outpacing global sales of electric cars and scooters.
HMC's showcase at the Expo included advanced automotive components such as chassis module systems, rear hub motors, and cutting-edge mechanical parts. The company also introduced its vision for last-mile connectivity solutions aimed at bridging urban and rural transport systems. This aligns with the Expo’s broader goal of fostering innovation to reshape India’s transportation landscape sustainably.
Ashwani Gautam, CEO of Firefox, HMC’s premium bicycle brand, emphasised the need for infrastructure development and safety measures to support cycling adoption in India, stressing the company’s dedication to innovation and premium-quality offerings tailored to evolving lifestyles.
Despite its strong market presence, HMC faces hurdles in scaling production and competing globally. The company’s proactive investment in research and development, smart manufacturing, and global collaborations aims to overcome these barriers. By leveraging platforms like the Bharat Mobility Expo, HMC seeks to position itself as a leader in sustainable urban mobility, driving growth in India’s cycle and e-cycle manufacturing sector and contributing to the global transportation ecosystem.
