Hero & Ather Collaborate For Interoperable EV Fast-Charging mobility outlook

In a significant move to bolster the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in India, Hero MotoCorp has joined forces with Ather Energy. The partnership facilitates seamless access for EV users to both VIDA and Ather Grids across the country, presenting a convenient and integrated charging experience.

The interoperable network will utilise the recently approved Light Electric Combined Charging System (LECCS), India's first indigenous AC and DC Combined Charging connector standard for light electric vehicles. This network, leveraging the approved charging system, is set to become the largest EV charging ecosystem in India.

This development marks the world's first-ever interoperable fast-charging network for EV two-wheelers, positioning India at the forefront of EV infrastructure innovation. This interoperability is expected to accelerate EV adoption by fostering a stronger segment and offering a user-friendly ownership experience.

Swadesh Srivastava, Chief Business Officer – Emerging Mobility BU, Hero MotoCorp, expressed enthusiasm about extending their association with Ather Energy. He emphasized that VIDA's brand promise is to build a 'Worry-free EV ecosystem,' and this extensive charging network aligns with that vision, providing a seamless and convenient ownership experience.

Swapnil Jain, Co-founder and CTO of Ather Energy, highlighted the collaborative effort to scale up charging infrastructure in India. He mentioned that the partnership with Hero MotoCorp would allow consumers to access an extensive network of charging stations, alleviating range anxiety and fostering collaborative expansion in public charging infrastructure for two-wheelers.

The interoperable network will enable customers to locate and navigate to charging stations through the 'My VIDA' and Ather App, showcasing the commitment to user convenience and accessibility in the rapidly evolving EV landscape.
