In a bid to increase its electric vehicle manufacturing capability by two million units, Hero Electric is investing INR 1,200 crore in building a new manufacturing facility in Rajasthan's Salarpur industrial area. 

Naveen Munjal, MD, Hero Electric said that the company has signed an agreement with the Rajasthan Government, and the new facility will be deployed before the end of 2023.

Hero Electric aims to reach an annual capacity of five million e2Ws by 2025. Notably, the company is also working on a manufacturing facility in Ludhiana, which, once deployed, can manufacture 250,000 units of e2Ws.

Meanwhile, the company has maintained its lead in e2W sales during August 2022. The OEM sold 10,213 e-scooters in the month against 8,786 it sold in July 2022, representing a 16.24% MoM increase.
