India's largest electric two-wheeler company, Hero Electric in collaboration with Massive Mobility is planning to install 10,000 EV charging stations around the country by the end of the year. These charging facilities will be available to all EVs and will encourage greater standardisation among manufacturers.
Sohinder Gill, CEO, Hero Electric said the company has till date set-up close to 1,650 charging stations and aim to set up 20,000 by the end of 2022.
This association with Massive Mobility will broaden Hero Electric’s efforts to reach its objective, he said, adding “This partnership will not only benefit Hero as a company but the industry as well.”
Shailesh Vickram Singh, Co-Founder, Massive Mobility said, “We are looking forward to creating a seamless charging experience for Hero customers through our seamless integration of discovery, booking and payment with chargers deployed around customer lifestyle.”
Massive Mobility is a start-up working to design a smart connected network of charging solutions catering to three- and two-wheeler EVs.
Recently, the companies also jointly conducted a survey to gauge consumer behaviour utilising their charging stations. The purpose was to understand whether they use them to completely charge their EVs or to just top up the charge in their EVs. The findings revealed that consumers looked for smart chargers that could be identified through an app over the internet, 16 A charging stations and long chords.
