Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) released project sanction orders worth INR 52 crore on the inaugural day of the DefExpo 2022 to its Indian domestic partners.

The orders have been placed with Indian firms that will supply Line Replaceable Units (LRU) for HAL products. These LRUs were being imported earlier.

Dr Ajay Kumar, Defence Secretary, Government of India handed over the orders to HAL’s industry partners in a programme held at the HAL Stall, in the presence of CB Ananthakrishnan, CMD, HAL.

HAL will work together with its Indian industry partners to indigenously design and develop parts like Infra-Red Radiation Suppression Systems, Engine Air Intake Particle Separator, Emergency Flotation System and Night Vision Goggles for Light Utility Helicopter, etc.

Notably, HAL has moved from its earlier Transfer of Technology (ToT) based manufacturing system to indigenous development by involving industry partners.
