Greaves Electric Mobility 3W (GEM 3W) has achieved a milestone with its flagship electric three-wheeler, the Greaves Eltra City. The vehicle successfully completed a record-breaking 225-kilometre journey from Bangalore to Mysore on a single charge, earning it the title of the highest range three-wheeler in India. This markable achievement has been officially recognised in the India Book of Records.
The Eltra City embarked on the 'Eltra City Freedom Ride,' an initiative organised to celebrate Independence Day and to highlight the vehicle's efficiency and sustainability. The journey took the Eltra City past several iconic monuments, including Vidhan Soudha, HAL Ajeet at Cubbon Road, and Tipu Sultan’s mausoleum, before concluding at the Freedom Fighter’s Park in Mysore.
The Greaves Eltra City is powered by a 10.8 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 9.6 kW motor, offering a robust performance that ensures seamless journeys. With a payload capacity of 528 kg, the vehicle also boasts best-in-class features such as a 14-degree gradeability, 49 Nm of peak torque, and hill hold assist, making it ideal for navigating challenging urban environments. The focus on safety, reduced maintenance costs, and maximised vehicle uptime further enhances its appeal to drivers and businesses alike.
The record-breaking journey was conducted in the vehicle's Eco mode, which played a crucial role in demonstrating the vehicle’s ability to maximise range performance. This strategic use of Eco mode highlights the advanced capabilities of the Eltra City, reinforcing its position as a market leader in the electric three-wheeler segment.
