GoMechanic Expands EV mobility outlook

GoMechanic has announced its plans to open 100 EV-specific workshops in major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad by March 2025. This expansion is seen as part of the larger effort to support Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari’s vision of achieving one crore EV sales annually by 2030, creating a market worth an estimated INR 20 lakh crore.

The company aims to double its network of EV service centres by the financial year 2026, positioning itself as a key player in the market. Muskan Kakkar of GoMechanic stated that the new workshops would be equipped with cutting-edge technology, including real-time diagnostics, battery health monitoring, and AI-powered predictive maintenance, ensuring the highest level of service for EV owners. While this sounds promising, the challenge of delivering consistent quality across a rapidly expanding network remains a concern.

The company has already established partnerships with leading EV players in India, including BluSmart, MoEVing, Zypp Electric, and Evera, providing comprehensive servicing for their electric three-wheelers and four-wheelers. As India’s EV market expands, these collaborations will likely grow, bolstered by initiatives like the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme that supports domestic battery cell manufacturing. Despite these positive steps, the scaling of these partnerships and maintaining the quality of service across a larger network will be critical for GoMechanic’s sustained success.
