Godrej Tooling, a division of Godrej & Boyce, has annoounced that it will supply dies to Toyota's new Innova Hycross for the dash panel and the main floor.
Pankaj Abhyankar, Senior Vice President and Business Head, said, “We are eager to support Toyota in its upcoming endeavours. The focus on quality and continuous improvement has enabled us to become a key player in the design and manufacture of components.'
The partnership between Toyota and Godrej Tooling dates back to 2002 with the Qualis localisation plan for door inners and a front valance started. In 2005, the company supplied a few reinforcement and structural parts including A-pillar, front cowl and the inner B-pillar for the old Innova.
Godrej Tooling has increased its investment by 10% on R&D towards a portfolio of tools and dies with a special focus on the EV industry. With the industry rapidly shifting gears towards the adoption of bybrids and electric vehicles, this has necessitated the development of new engines, battery boxes, and high-precision sheet metal parts, which, in turn, require new dies.
