Godrej Aerospace To Support Indian Space, Civil Aviation Sector

The company wants to leverage its existing manufacturing partnerships with a new INR 250 Crore facility in Maharashtra.

Godrej Aerospace plans an investment of INR 250 crore to build a new facility at Khalapur in Maharashtra for advanced manufacturing, assembly, and integration facilities, eyeing the emerging needs of India’s Space and Civil Aviation sector.

Maneck Behramkamdin, AVP & Business Head, Godrej Aerospace, highlighting the company’s contribution to ISRO's Chandrayaan 3 mission, said, “As a trusted partner of ISRO, we will continue to contribute to future launches, missions, and the development of advanced aerospace components and systems. In civil aviation, we are focusing on innovation and exports to global markets, including the US, projecting 100% growth in the next three years.”  

Godrej Aerospace has supplied critical components for Chandrayaan 3 mission, which is due for launch soon. Over the years, it has emerged as a manufacturer of critical components for space projects, including liquid propulsion engines, satellite thrusters, and control module components, used in ISRO’s Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan missions to the Moon and Mars, respectively. 

The company has been a part of every Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle and Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle launch along with the recent launch of the NVS-01 Satellite.

Godrej Aerospace collaborates with global majors like Rolls-Royce, Boeing and GE to develop and manufacture critical components. It is the first Indian private sector firm to manufacture core modules for Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) engines.
