Genesys International Unveils Cutting-Edge ADAS Maps mobility outlook

Genesys International has unveiled its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) maps during the ADAS Show 2023 at the International Centre of Automotive Technology (ICAT, Manesar). The event, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India, showcased Genesys' commitment to pushing the boundaries of safety and navigation in the automotive industry.

Genesys' latest development signifies a monumental leap towards the future of driver safety, emphasizing advanced ADAS levels, including autonomous driving. The highlight of the presentation was the introduction of their high-fidelity 2D Standard Definition (SD) map for India, covering an extensive 8.3 million kilometres of roads and featuring over 40 million Points of Interest. This not only sets a new benchmark for accuracy and reliability but also addresses critical challenges faced by vision-based ADAS systems, including visibility, localisation, and lane guidance.

In 2022, India witnessed over 4.6 lakh road accidents, with a staggering 32.9% occurring on National Highways. Genesys aims to address this issue by capturing intricate road details such as lane markings, width, dividers, and various other attributes critical for road safety. Sajid Malik, CMD of Genesys International, emphasised the focus on data accuracy, stating that it enables the provision of critical information for both drivers and autonomous vehicles to navigate safely.

Navin Paul, a key member of Genesys' Executive Innovation Board and advisor to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, highlighted the importance of a comprehensive ecosystem for road safety improvement. He commended Genesys' ADAS maps for augmenting drivers' cognitive abilities, thereby enhancing their ability to assess risks and respond more effectively to prevent accidents.

Genesys International's commitment to innovation is further underscored by recent projects and partnerships, including the creation of 3D digital twins of urban areas and a collaboration with the Survey of India (SOI). This partnership aims to enhance India's geospatial data capabilities by leveraging Genesys' advanced mapping technologies and SOI's extensive surveying resources.
