Gabriel India Limited has announced the acquisition of assets from Marelli Motherson Auto Suspension Parts Private Limited (MMAS). This strategic move aims to enhance Gabriel India’s position in the suspension industry and expand its product portfolio to meet growing demands for advanced vehicle technologies.
Pune-based MMAS, a joint venture between Marelli Europe S.p.A. and Samvardhana Motherson International Limited, specialises in passive shock absorbers, semi-corner modules, and gas springs for cars and commercial vehicles. The acquisition includes a manufacturing capacity of 3.2 million shock absorbers and 1 million gas spring units annually, significantly boosting Gabriel India’s production capabilities.
As part of the deal, Gabriel India will enter a License Agreement and a Technical Assistance Agreement with Marelli Suspension Systems Italy S.p.A., enabling the company to integrate advanced suspension technologies into its offerings for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). This partnership underscores Gabriel India’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions and maintaining its competitive edge in the automotive sector.

Approved unanimously by Gabriel India’s Board of Directors, the acquisition positions the company to meet increasing market demands for advanced suspension solutions.
